Update, leaving Rome/ Ostia
As usual, I'm running out of time. We are ready to leave Rome. Contrary to what I have written in some emails, we might actually not go to Naples and the Amalfi Coast, but to Sardinia. Gonzalo has been there and it seems we would find what we want: nice little remote coves for swimming and relaxing. Looks like the west coast of Italy to Naples is not a very safe place, at least that's what our book says - safe in a sense that you don't need to worry about your boat when you leave it. Anyway, we loved Corsica so much, I bet Sardinia is at least as nice.
Our Spot (location device) is out of 'hard-to-find' batteries, so we still cannot sent you location updates. Well, know that we are doing great. Kim is with us now, so we are all back together again. Yeah!!! And we are suffering in the heat. Last time we saw some rain was back in Mallorca. Sorry, guys! ;-)

Finally, we have internet again - on Elba
Sorry, we have been out of touch for a long time. We had a pretty good time, though ;-), just no internet. On June 11, we arrived in Bonifacio at the South end of
Corsica. What a beautiful overnight crossing we had!!! After our past
experience, Rolf and I were quite apprehensive. Even during the whole time of
Parasailor-Sailing, we anticipated the worst, but for a change, it didn’t come.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
And wow, what a view when we arrived in Bonifacio!!! The
town is partially on top of a cliff and partially in the fjord behind it, you
cannot see the harbor from the water. We got a beautiful spot right in front of
the restaurant “The Kissing Pigs” where we watched people going by watching us. The town
was really sweet with nice shops and amazing restaurants. Great ice cream and
pizza! Even bought some beautiful fabric for sewing bags.
June 12, was a very windy day, so we stayed put. We were worried for
Kazaio, as they left a day after us. We expected them to arrive next morning, but they didn't and we had no way of contacting them. Much later, we found out that they were okay, but didn't quite have the same luck with the winds as we had. No reunion soon, then, as we will have to be in Rome on June 23 to drop off Andrea and pick up Kim.
Anyway, we really enjoyed Corsica! What a great place, certainly worth a visit! I will post some pictures soon.
Today, June 17, we arrived in Portoferraio on Elba, another sweet little town. Good bye France and hello Italy. Had an arrival ice cream (instead of the apparently obligatory beer "Anlegerbier"), wow!!! Never had an ice cream like that before - and right in front of our boat. Will stock up on it tomorrow. before we continue on to the mainland.
By the way, the contract for our Spot has expired and somehow we don't seem to be able to renew it. We are working on it, but that means no emails with our coordinates until we are successful.

Update
Sorry, guys, it's been quiet on our blog. First, we spent 10+ days working on the boat in Palma plus driving around trying to find stuff. We now have a washing machine, a watermaker, and other things fixed and improved. Rolf got a lot done on our bimini, too. After that, we were busy enjoying some days of vacation in the Palma area. My friend Andrea has joined us in the meantime and we are on our way to Corsica via Menorca, with a stop-over in Cala Ratjada to receive our electric folding bikes. Weather has been great and we are doing well. More updates soon.
